Historical Hua Hin, goes down in Thai and Siamese history as the very first holiday destination for seaside loving locals. After having been endorsed by the Thai royal family way back in the 1920s, this traditional sleepy laid back town has played continued host to swarms of tourists both Thai and foreign. Today, Hua Hin is still a trendy vacation spot for well-to-do Thais, expatriate retirees and foreign tourists seeking an exotic beach resort unspoiled by modern commercial development.

Just south of Bangkok, Hua Hin has something for everyone: a stunning beach, scenic hill tops, tantalizing waterfalls, lush limestone mountains and innumerable leisure activities. What better place to rejuvenate than in the confines of an international awarded spa, including Chivas Som which has twice won awards for World’s Best Spa. Whether undergoing spa treatment or dentistry in Hua Hin or medical service in Bangkok, Hua Hin is perfect for those who love a quieter holiday destination while lazing on the beach and taking healthy enjoyable walks or indulging in a spot of golf at international standard courses designed by golfing stars such as Jack Nicklaus and others.
Both getting to and getting around Hua Hin is quite easy. Visitors to Hua Hin may arrive by train, bus, car, or even plane. Within Hua Hin, many hotels and guesthouses are located near the town center; although those farther away typically provide shuttle service to and from town. Taxis and tuk-tuks are easily found around the city center and are reasonably priced for those who wish to explore the nearby attractions, though visitors may also rent cars, motorbikes, or even bicycles to tour the area on their own.
As the oldest beach resort in Thailand, Hua Hin has a wide range of attractions, not least of which is spending time on the long, white sand beach and partaking in various beach activities.

Hua Hin also features numerous world-class golf courses, several Buddhist temples, bustling local markets, outstanding seafood restaurants, and numerous spas and massage parlors that are ideal for relaxation, rehabilitation, or rejuvenation.

Historic attractions include the Old Palace, the Hua Hin Railway Station, and other historical buildings. Daytrips include visiting the surrounding countryside to ride elephants or nearby Takiab Beach, where visitors can ride horses or climb the hill to a Buddhist temple.
Hua Hin features a wide variety of activities, including golfing, elephant trekking, Thai massage, cooking courses, walking & cycling, and horseback riding. Water Sports in Hua Hin include swimming, fishing, waterskiing, jet-skiing, sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding, parasailing, kayaking, snorkeling, and scuba-diving. Other activities include sunbathing, the Sasi Dinner Theatre, shopping, and playing tennis.
As Hua Hin is such a popular destination for both international and local visitors it’s no surprise that there are numerous souvenir products available. With two night markets, a local market, and numerous boutique stores, Hua Hin is an excellent place to shop for locally produced handicrafts, fabrics, souvenirs, and food products. Locally produced goods that are particularly worth seeking out include cotton fabric called “kommapat”, hand-made dolls, and various decorative objects crafted from local products, such as sea shells and coconut. Food items include pineapple & coconut products, various other dried fruits, and aloe vera.
