Seven Thai Hospitals announced as World’s Best Medical Clinics in Asia Pacific for 2017

The winners of “Global Patients’ Choice Awards (2017)” are chosen by voting of patients who had received their services.  The award is organized annually by the Medical Departures, an online healthcare community that connects patients from Australia, New Zealand and elsewhere with clinics in the Asia-Pacific region.  Among the top ten are seven Thai hospitals, namely, Bangkok Hospital Phuket – Phuket, Yanhee Hospital Health & Beauty – Bangkok, Phuket Plastic Surgery Institute – Phuket, Samitivej Hospitals (Sukhumvit Branch) – Bangkok, Radiant Medical Phuket – Phuket, Chiangmai Ram Hospital – Chiang Mai. The other three hospitals are two from Malaysia and one from South Korea.

According to Medical Departures’ website, patients are encouraged to rate their clinics after receiving treatment through the Medical Departures network.  To qualify for the Global Patients’ Choice Awards, hospitals/clinicx must maintain an average overall rating of four or more stars out of five. Thousands of patients book for their healthcare services through Medical Departures each year.  In order to be considered, each hospital must receive a number of ratings above a set threshold during the time under consideration.

The winners will receive a certificate to display in their premises. The award is designed to affirm the outstanding contribution these clinics have made in providing affordable, top-quality healthcare to thousands of patients.

Being in the top ten of the award winning lists show the capability of Thai medical services in delivery of high quality treatment and healthcare to their customers in a reasonable price along with the state-of-the-art tools.  Thailand has been enjoying a supreme position as the most sought after medical tourism destination in Asia for about two decades. Medical tourism in Thailand grew astronomically since 2008. According to the Medical Tourism Association, a Global Non-profit association for the Medical Tourism, it is expected that medical tourism revenue of this country would touch $3.11 billion by 2017.

Meanwhile  Medical Tourism Index (MTI), the industry-leading journal, listed Thailand as one of the top destinations of high quality healthcare worldwide in its the 2016 report that Thailand listed the top 41 destinations for those seeking value-added services and high quality of healthcare worldwide. The research from the collaboration between VISA and MTI also said Thailand’s medical tourism will continue to thrive along with other two neighbors in the same region-Singapore and South Korea.
